Why Music Won’t Disappear Because of AI

Every producer and musician probably knows the situation: the artist shows up at the studio drunk and late. That’s manageable. But when their partner also shows up – and they’re even more drunk… well, things start getting interesting.
We managed to get the session rolling, and things actually sounded promising. Good stuff, even. But that vibe didn’t last long – the artist’s wife suddenly burst into tears. She said life felt heavy and overwhelming. I tried to comfort her: life isn’t always easy, but it gets better. Eventually, she calmed down.
We turned our focus back to the artist. Just as we were getting somewhere, he got the hiccups. And right on cue – no joke – his wife started crying again. That chaotic mix of emotions lasted a few hours. Still, we managed to record a pretty decent track.
I’ve learned that a drunk artist can be okay – up to a point. But a crying partner? Not exactly an ideal studio companion. There’s definitely a line that needs to be drawn.
What does the future sound like?
AI meets music – and the studio evolves with it.

Can AI really take music away from us?
People keep saying that AI is taking music away from humans. But seriously – where could it go? Humans have always made music. We’ve banged sticks together, clanged on pots, found rhythm in anything. Beat and sound have lived in us forever. And when you look at people around music – there's usually a smile.
Even now, with all this new technology that some fear or mistrust, it doesn’t erase what we’ve always had. Emotion. Connection. Story.
Don’t let AI take away the joy of making music
I’ve been thinking – once this AI hype fades, maybe musicians will get excited again about creating music. Here’s my honest advice:Don’t fall into the trap of thinking AI is faster or better and that you shouldn’t even try.
If you're trying to compete with speed, you’re missing the point. But when you invest in a good producer, a good mix engineer – or just doing things with care and soul – that is how you stay ahead.
Slash plays better – so what?
If you love making music, why stop just because AI might do it “better”? Or faster? Nobody has ever quit music because Slash plays guitar better. Or because the Beatles wrote better songs.
If that’s your reason, it’s just an excuse. You create something AI can’t. You have emotion. You have a story. You have that human feeling that hits people right where it matters.
Don’t believe the hype – just make music
I’ve heard so many musicians say they’ve lost motivation because AI does it better. Or that it can create in seconds what takes them a month. But most of that is just an illusion.
We still have the passion, the drive, the fire. And that’s what makes you better than AI.
So don’t quit. Do more. Dig out those old projects. Try something you’ve never done before. Now is the time.
The studio isn’t useless – it might be just what you need
People say studios are getting quieter. Maybe it’s the economy, maybe it’s war, or maybe it’s new AI tools. If there’s no money, there’s no money – I get that.
But let me say this: a studio is where help happens.
Recording, mixing, mastering – sure. But also feedback, ideas, honest input. Someone who listens and helps you make something better. A good producer can push your music to the next level. AI won’t do that.
Why music won’t disappear because of AI
Yeah, I might repeat this a lot – but that’s because I believe it.
Now is the time to do something new. Now is the time to stop hesitating and go for it.Make music – because it’s been in us since the beginning, and it’s not going anywhere.
